Hassan Ayariga, the flagbearer of APC political party has advised President Nana Addo to restrict the prices some Ghanaians charge for their commodities in the marketplace.
He claims that some market vendors knowingly raise prices for products and services in an effort to enhance their profits while blaming the administration.
Hassan Ayariga’s counsel is justified because it is common knowledge that prices for products and services rise daily.
He wrote: “Prices of foodstuffs such as local bananas, pawpaw, coconut, salt, okro, cassava, kontomire, palm oil, koko, Fura and Wassa Wassa have gone up astronomically in the market.
“Even when all these items are all grown in Ghana, those commodities prices have been doubled in the markets and we still blame the dollar.
Ghanaian traders and businessmen are making life unbearable for fellow Ghanaians.
“Government should institute a price guarantee and control system to control prices of goods and services in the system.”
