UBER DRIVER ARRESTED FOR POSING AS DR PATRICK ASIEDU BEHIND VIRAL AUDIO AGAINST POLICE

Police have accosted and detained Patrick Asiedu, who claimed in an audio that has since gone viral that he was a doctor who had been the victim of police extortion and a set-up.

The guy described how several officers put drugs in his car on purpose and demanded GH 20,000 as ransom in the aforementioned audio clip.

The purpose of the tape was to warn Ghanaians about widespread bribery among employees and corruption inside the Ghana Police Service.

The protagonist, Dr. Patrick Asiedu, was called to assist investigations after the Service obtained a copy of the audio clip in an effort to maintain the police department’s transformation strategy.

However, the Service’s investigations showed that no such incidence had ever been reported to the aforementioned stations in East Legon and Accra Central.

As a result, the police increased their surveillance and intelligence gathering efforts to apprehend the person who was recording.

On January 18, the Ghana Police Service announced that Patrick Asiedu, the individual who made the recording, had been detained.

“Police investigations, so far, have established that the man who has been arrested and in police custody, is indeed called Patrick Asiedu, he is an Uber driver and not a Doctor.

“The investigations show that the entire story narrated in the audio tape is false and a total fabrication by the suspect.”

The suspect is said to have claimed that  he only once witnessed a similar incident happen to one of his customers.
