Highlife legend Gyedu Blay Ambolley has been publicly rebuked by media celebrity Kofi Okyere Darko, often known as KOD, for calling him shallow-minded.
Mr. Ambolley made those critical remarks to KOD during a discussion on the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominations.
He opined that the award program had purposefully ignored highlife musicians and artists in favor of just honoring their favorites.
KOD took issue with these remarks and responded sharply on social media, advising Mr. Ambolley to learn to respect the thought that goes into the VGMA nominations.
“Which awards scheme has projected our music industry like VGMA since independence? How many have projected our musicians beyond GH. How many have consistently done more than 10 years?” KOD said
“Some of our musicians have failed to evolve and are quick to blame others for their personal mishaps. When was the last time he released an album?”
In the meantime, KOD has urged Ambolley to express his gratitude for the times when he fed him and for the three decades that he continuously promoted him.
“I’d still straighten up an ungrateful grandfather. I fed him before and promoted him for 30 years. If anything, he owes me money too,” KOD disclosed.
