Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has strongly criticized the alleged attack on his campaign coordinator, Ali Zakaria, during the recent Super Delegates Conference of the party.
Ali Zakaria was subjected to a violent assault that left him hospitalized.
Kyerematen characterized the incident as a clear example of “complete lack of discipline and inappropriate conduct” within the party.
Speaking to the media on August 29, 2023, he expressed his astonishment at the reported incident of mob violence.
The former Minister of Trade and Industry expressed his disappointment at the sharp contrast between the party’s proclaimed values of integrity and unity and the misconduct that occurred during the event to select the party’s leadership.
He further underscored his firm stance against such behavior, emphasizing that it contradicts the core principles that initially attracted him and others to join the NPP.
