Actress Yvonne Nelson faced backlash from frustrated social media users after she shared a post criticizing the ruling NPP government.
Yvonne’s post featured a video animation illustrating the economic challenges caused by the NPP government’s policies.
Nelson captioned the video: “All the campaign empty promises Mixed with the BIG BIG English assorted with the FAMILY & FRIENDS equals a FAILURE. @NAkufoAddo,”
While her post conveyed an important message, many Ghanaians were disappointed by Yvonne’s previous silence during the recent #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest. She not only remained silent but also didn’t participate in the protest, which drew criticism.
Considering that Yvonne had previously led one of the largest political protests in Ghanaian history with the 2015 Dumsor Must Stop protest, her silence on this occasion received heavy criticism.
When she eventually voiced her protest against the government, a social media user was quick to respond.
“I didn’t see you at the #OccupJulorbiHouse but you led the charge against dumsor You sef, you’re part of the problems we face as a country 🙁,” the netizen wrote.
