Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has criticised the Akufo-Addo-led government’s newly launched Performance Tracker, dismissing it as a misplaced priority.
She maintained that the tracker did not address the widespread corruption that has harmed state finances throughout the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia regime.
The tracker, according to Madam Bawah, is an unnecessary waste of the little resources available to the state because it conceals the government’s wasteful expenditure.
The former deputy minister of transportation made the claim that nepotism is encouraged by the government’s selection of certain people and businesses for large contracts, citing the fact that 80% of government projects and contracts are single-sourced in a tweet on Thursday, April 11.
She emphasized that Ghanaians expected the tracker to reveal information about government performance, particularly with relation to nepotism and dubious contracts.
