The spouse of Ghanaian vocalist Iona Reine, Pastor Okrah, has disclosed some of the reasons behind the breakdown of his first marriage.
He said in his statement that he was deeply preoccupied with his ministry activities. He continued by saying that he seldom ever spent time with his family.
The preacher also revealed that he would avoid spending time with his wife while fasting and praying. He claimed that because the woman’s demands were not satisfied, she did not approve of this behavior.
During an interview conducted by GhanaWeb with Zionfelix, Pastor Okrah revealed that he would hold himself accountable for the breakdown of his previous marriage.
“I spent most of my time on my ministry work. Most of the time, I was fasting and praying. During that period, you cannot get close to your wife spiritually. So [we just] grew apart, and I think I overdid it. It was my fault, and I take the blame.
“Because she is a woman who has needs that ought to be met, she grew weary. She decided to leave, and both families agreed to part ways amicably so that she could enjoy her life and not be a hindrance to the ministry,” he said.
The clergyman emphasized that in his second marriage to Iona Reine, he would not make the same errors.
