Ghanaian actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson seems to be planning to organise a second ‘dumsor must stop’ demonstration.
In a tweet, Yvonne requested assistance from IMANI Ghana in planning a follow-up to the 2015 demo.
Her call comes as power outages happen frequently throughout the day, indicating that dumsor has returned to the area stronger than before.
Yvonne wrote on her X account: “Imani Ghana, can we organize another vigil? Ive been waiting for you to reach out like you did years back. ( your team made our demo a success ) Im reaching out myself. The NPP and its leadership @NAkufoAddo have taken Ghanaians for granted . #DUMSORMUSTSTOP,”
Nelson orchestrated a large-scale demonstration against the then-government in the last days of the Mahama administration in response to the ongoing power crisis.
After eight years, Ghanaians find themselves once again in the same situation as dumsor has made a triumphant comeback!
