Actress Lydia Forson has expressed how much she admires and values parents who let their kids pursue professions in the entertainment industry.
Ghanaian parents would not, until recently, accept that their children would choose to pursue careers in the arts.
Parents believed in the conventional way of becoming a Doctor, Teacher, Nurse, and Lawyer among others.
However, in the present, parents are coming to terms with the fact that their kids are creatives who work as musicians, dancers, music executives, content developers, and so on.
Lydia Forson stated in a tweet on X that it is a benefit for the entertainment industry.
She said that many young people who are pursuing careers in entertainment have been greatly impacted by the fight she and other pioneers fought for.
Her tweet read “We’ve come such a long way as a country when it comes to entertainment. Seeing so many parents embrace their children as entertainers and respect it as a career path is huge. We still have a long way to go, but I’m happy to be here to witness this gradual shift”.
