Before Monday’s intense downpour, there was a storm that resulted in a huge tree falling on a motorcycle and a car, injuring one person and sending them to the hospital.
Sadly, the motorbike rider met the falling trunk as he tried to avoid the falling tree, but a military guy who was also trapped in the turmoil in Cantonments, Accra, managed to escape unharmed.
Reportedly, the military troops driving the car made an amazing escape, emerging unscathed and unharmed.
The motorbike rider, on the other hand, was not so fortunate. A tree fell on his lower body, necessitating an immediate trip to the Osu police hospital for medical assistance.
Following the occurrence, Dr. Kingsford Adams, the Director of Parks and Gardens, confirmed the accident’s specifics in a statement to the media.
He also observed that vehicles seemed reluctant to use the route, which resulted in a major disturbance in traffic flow created by the fallen tree.
Furthermore, about six cars in the area of Kotoka International Airport sustained damage by falling trees. Trees fell on top of parked cars near the Landing Restaurant, causing damage.
