The flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Bawumia has appealed to the citizens of Ghana that he should be elected President because of his diligent effort while serving as Vice President.
He claims that he has put in more effort than any other Vice President in the country’s fourth republic, making him deserve the leadership opportunity.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia revealed this while addressing the Youth Connect event in the Ashanti Region.
“The reason why I want to become President is that I’ve worked so hard as a Vice President. My work speaks for itself. If you compare the various Vice Presidents under the Fourth Republic, you can tell that my work rate stands out.
The Vice President emphasized that he has a total of eight years to earn the support of the public, whereas John Dramani Mahama only has four years.
In his view, he will have to take more responsibility for his actions as he will still require the support of the people of Ghana when he runs for their approval in 2028.
Hence, he thinks it is preferable to vote for a candidate who will be more responsible compared to someone seeking a grace period despite having only four years in office as president.
