Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, Professor Ransford Gyampo is appalled by how certain Ghanaians who have moved abroad in search of better opportunities have found pleasure in doing low-skilled jobs overseas.
This occurs following Kofi Gabs, a popular Ghanaian social media figure living in the Netherlands, who earns a living by cleaning toilets, causing a major debate with his remarks about the importance of educational accomplishments in Ghana made two weeks ago.
In a viral video, Gabs claimed that his Dutch passport is more useful than a PhD from Ghana.
During a segment of The Key Points on TV3, he pointed out that it is unfortunate that some Ghanaians prioritize a foreign nation’s passport over pursuing higher education.
According to him, this perception indicates a state of failure, observing that the current condition of the country does not align with the vision Dr Kwame Nkrumah had for Ghana during its independence.
