NPP Vice Presidential candidate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka NAPO is back to criticizing Nkrumah with his usual fervor.
In a recent interview, NAPO stated that despite Ghanaian perceptions of Nkrumah as a great President, he was in fact a tyrant who attempted to dismantle the Chieftaincy institution.
NAPO alleged that Nkrumah, driven by a thirst for power, persecuted numerous chiefs nationwide, leading many to be compelled to leave the country.
He went on to say that as a result of this oppression, leaders from various regions united to establish the United Party (UP), which later became the NPP.
NAPO stated that this demonstrates that the NPP is truly the most diverse party in Ghana as it was established by chiefs from all regions of the country.
