Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale gained widespread attention when a video of him expressing frustration about the many broken streetlights in Accra spread on social media.
In a video that was posted on the internet, Shatta Wale was spotted driving down a dimly lit street while making his way to the Kotoka International Airport road in Accra.
The head of SM expressed his frustration and worry about the absence of functioning streetlights, necessary for ensuring safety on Accra’s roads at night.
He also condemned Ghanaian citizens for supporting political leaders who, in his view, have misled the public and not delivered on their promises while in power.
Perplexed by the circumstances, Shatta Wale likened Accra to a small town, highlighting the fact that faulty streetlights pose risks to nighttime driving.
