I DIDN’T RELEASE MY “UP & RUNNING” ALBUM BECAUSE I WANT TO WIN A GRAMMY – Stonebwoy

The current TGMA Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy, has firmly declared that he did not drop his newest album, ‘Up & Running,’ because of the Grammy Awards.

In reality, Stonebwoy, also known as Livingstone Etsa Satekla, is one of many Ghanaian artists who have not yet received a Grammy nomination. In 2023, he narrowly missed securing the nomination slot for his album 5th Dimension.

The singer of “Hero” officially unveiled his long-awaited new album, “Up & Running,” on Wednesday, October 23. The album includes the popular song “Jejereje,” which was introduced at a stylish listening event hosted at the Alora Beach Resort located within Laboma Beach in Accra.

Dr. Louisa Satekla, his wife, was there to show her support for her husband.

Speaking to the press at the event, Stonebwoy who was answering a question from Channel One TV’s ‘Ekow Koomson with regards to whether he released the new album because of Grammy said: “God is my witness that I didn’t release the album because of Grammy”.

In his view, he has never put out an album or a track purely with the goal of winning a prize. He admitted he narrowly missed a Grammy nomination in 2023 with his album “5th Dimension,” but clarified that this did not impact his choice to release “Up & Running.”
