This was after the court heard an an application he filed praying the court to grant him bail pending appeal.
Pastor Hammond Love was sentenced to 4- year in hard labour for stealing.
According to Angel FM’s Court correspondent, Ama Brako Ampofo, the trial judge, Kizita Naa Koowa Quarshie after hearing the application from both parties granted Pastor Love Hammond bail in the sum of 2 million with two sureties who are to provide justification with landed property within the jurisdiction.
The court further ordered that the convict applicant to deposit his passport which will not expire before 15th November, 2025 with the registrar of the court.

Pastor Love was sentenced to 48 months in prison with hard labour for stealing.

Pastor Love, former husband of gospel musician, Obaapa Christie, was found guilty of the offence after seven years of trial.

ASP Frimpong who presented the facts of the case said that in 2016, the complainant, Samuel Amankwah, a Ghanaian resident in the US, shipped Toyota Highlander 2013 model with chassis number 5TDBK3EH3DS181410 into the country and tasked Pastor Love to clear it.

The convict cleared the said vehicle with his money, after which the complainant told him to sell it for $50,000 and deduct his duty money, which he used as a duty.

Later, the complainant told Pastor Love to hold on with the sale of the vehicle as he would travel into the country and refund his money.

In April 2017, the complainant arrived in the country and contacted Pastor Love for his vehicle, but he could not produce it despite several demands.

The complainant lodged a complaint with the Police and Pastor Love was arrested in May 2017.

During interrogation, convicted Pastor Love told the Police that he secured a loan of GHC 40,000 with 20% interest to clear the vehicle and was accruing more interest, so he sold the vehicle at GHC 80,000 without the consent of the owner and paid GHC 70,000 to the loan company.

Meanwhile, Pastor Love was unable to lead the Police to the said loan company to verify the claim and could not also tell who bought the vehicle.

After investigations, he was charged with the offence and arraigned before this Honourable court. The Judge said the convict was dishonest to the Court.
