Well-known Ghanaian preacher and gospel singer, Sonnie Badu, has given a heartfelt message to Ghanaians as the general elections on December 7, 2024, draw near.
In a recent interview on Accra FM, Badu encouraged the public to decline presents from politicians asking for votes, stressing the importance of putting accountability and the country’s well-being first during elections.
When considering Ghana’s present economic difficulties, Badu openly criticized the government, labelling it as an unsuccessful administration. He urged voters to take into account the increasing expenses of their daily lives when casting their votes.
“Don’t let anyone deceive you with gari, rice, or yam, and throw away your precious vote,” he cautioned. “The only time you hold real power is now, and you see it in how politicians suddenly visit your towns and villages, pretending to understand your struggles. Once they gain power, they’ll never come back.”
The gospel singer emphasized the necessity of removing leaders who have not fulfilled their promises and worsened the country’s difficulties through voting.
The gospel singer further stressed the importance of voting out leaders who have failed to deliver on their promises and contributed to the country’s hardships. “If you’re happy, vote. If you’re not, vote. Look at your circumstances and decide. Vote out those who did not help this country when they had the chance. I’m only sharing my principles,” he added.
Badu’s words resonate with numerous Ghanaians unhappy with the current situation and longing for change. His reminder to voters to vote wisely and not be influenced by immediate rewards emphasizes the importance of informed voting in shaping the country’s future.
