Kuami Eugene, a musician from Ghana, stated in a recent interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z that despite having his own record label now, he is not open to signing other artists.
He mentioned that Rockstar Records will solely manage the Kuami Eugene brand until he stabilizes in the industry and then consider signing other artists.
He pointed out that he would need to fill larger auditoriums and achieve greater success before signing other artists.
“The Kuami Eugene brand is a handful. Even as a single artiste, it’s not been easy. So adding someone now, I don’t think it’s advisable. But maybe in future, I will ask Richie if he thinks I should start signing people but I don’t think I will do it now. I have so much to do as Kuami Eugene, myself,” he told the host Kwame Dadzie.
Kuami Eugene stated that Richie from Lynx Entertainment has approved his venture, and he aims to defy the common trend of artists’ careers declining after leaving their management or record labels.
