Actor and prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter, Prince David Osei, has extended an olive branch to members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following the heated 2024 election campaign. In a heartfelt Facebook post, he apologized to anyone who may have been offended by his remarks during the campaign.
“I deeply apologize if my words during the campaign offended anyone from NDC. We were all focused on winning, but now let’s move forward and live in peace. God bless Ghana,” he wrote.
The actor’s conciliatory tone has been widely commended as a step toward national unity and reconciliation after a divisive election period. Prince David Osei’s acknowledgment of the NDC’s electoral victory highlights his call for peace and cooperation.
However, the actor also expressed concerns about alleged threats from some NDC supporters in a previous Facebook post. He claimed that his life had been threatened and vowed to protect himself while calling on authorities to intervene.
“To some NDC supporters and followers, is this the meaning of Democracy? Even after winning an election, resorting to violence, insults, intimidation, and bullying. Now that I know you are after my life, I will be prepared. God is my source and protector,” he shared, tagging the Ghana Police Service.
Prince David Osei’s dual approach of promoting peace while addressing his security concerns underscores the complexity of emotions following a fiercely contested election. His posts have sparked discussions on social media about the need for tolerance and mutual respect in Ghana’s political landscape.
