SAMUEL AWUKU RESIGNS AS DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE NATIONAL LOTTERY AUTHORITY

Samuel Awuku has officially stepped down as the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), effective January 13, 2025.

In a resignation letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Awuku explained his decision to resign, citing his election as the Member of Parliament for the Akuapem North Constituency and his commitment to focusing on his parliamentary duties.

“Having been duly sworn in to represent my constituents, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament,” he stated in the letter.

Mr. Awuku was appointed as the Director-General of the NLA in August 2021 and confirmed by the Public Services Commission in July 2022. During his tenure, he oversaw significant operations of the Authority, which is tasked with managing lottery and gaming activities in Ghana.

In his resignation letter, he requested the President to appoint a replacement to ensure a smooth transition and handover of responsibilities.

Samuel Awuku expressed his gratitude to the President and extended his best wishes for the future.

His departure from the NLA marks a new chapter in his political journey as he dedicates his time to serving the people of Akuapem North in Parliament.
