President John Dramani Mahama has delivered a firm warning to his newly appointed ministers, emphasizing that arrogance and disrespect towards Ghanaians will not be accepted during his tenure.
Addressing the audience at the Jubilee House on January 22, 2025, during the inauguration of six appointed ministers, the President highlighted that public officials should exhibit humility and responsibility in their roles.
“We must exhibit tolerance for their views and work to meet their aspirations. This government will not tolerate arrogance or disrespect for the people who elected us into office. Modesty and prudence must be the guiding principles upon which you, myself, and our Vice President fashion our governance,” he declared.
President Mahama urged the appointees to remember that their power is derived from the people and encouraged them to focus on the needs and hopes of Ghanaians.
“The people of Ghana will hold us accountable for the trust they have placed in our hands. It cannot be business as usual. We must be transparent and fair in all our dealings,” he added.
