I USED MY COUSINS AS MODELS BECAUSE I COULDN’T AFFORD PROFESSIONALS – Cina Soul

Ghanaian artist Cina Soul has shared insights about her path in the music scene, revealing the progress she has made despite various obstacles.

“I’m still not where I want to be, but I won’t say I’m at the same place. I appreciate the journey so far,” she told KMJ on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh.

She recalled her struggles in the early days of her career, saying, “I was even looking at my old music video and remembered how it was hard to find models. It was my friends and cousins in the video because I couldn’t afford to hire anyone.”

Cina Soul also acknowledged that securing funding continues to be a significant struggle, particularly for independent musicians.

“Every artist needs money at every stage—for promo, creation, everything. And as the years go by, it gets worse,” she said.

Despite the struggles, she remains hopeful. “I believe in God’s timing. I was signed to Universal a few years ago, and I know another deal or investor will come my way. I just have to keep working hard.”

She advised young artists to keep pushing. “Even if you get only two plays or two listeners, just keep going. It won’t always be the same for the rest of your life.”
