Kwame Asare Obeng, who goes by A Plus, claims that the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was too frightened to voice his opinions during the time when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was in charge.
In an interview with Adom FM, A Plus talked about how Akufo-Addo’s leadership was very strict, to the point where even influential leaders like Otumfuo kept quiet.
A Plus, a former musician, was very upset with how the New Patriotic Party (NPP) often criticizes the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
He questioned why they feel they have the right to speak so freely after how they governed before.
“I am not an Ashanti, but I revere the Asantehene because of the way he has been able to hold the Ashanti Kingdom together and ensure that there are no chieftaincy disputes in his jurisdiction,” A Plus stated.
“God bless him for that. I have so much respect for Otumfuo. A whole Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, when Akufo-Addo was president, was very careful whenever he spoke.”
