Popular Kumawood actor Big Akwes has responded to the social media uproar over his controversial remarks about singer Cina Soul during a recent Max TV appearance, dismissing the backlash as amusing.
The firestorm began when Akwes made comments perceived as derogatory toward the “Julor” hitmaker during a live fashion critique segment last week. His remarks sparked outrage, with many accusing him of body-shaming and criticizing Max TV for allowing such commentary.
In an Instagram video posted Sunday, the actor doubled down: “The whole thing is funny. Go watch the original video of her dancing first, then judge my comments. After seeing it, you’ll understand if I spoke truth or not.”
He maintained his critique was about the outfit choice rather than the artist herself, though he offered no direct apology.
This incident highlights ongoing debates about celebrity criticism boundaries in Ghana’s entertainment industry.
