Some embattled traders at Adum Kumasi have chided the current Regional Minister of the Ashanti Region, Dr Frank Amoakohene, over his performance since assuming office.
Following the devastation caused by the fire outbreak at Adum, traders have expressed mixed feelings regarding how the government is working towards restoring business and livelihood of persons affected by the fire.
Several donations have been made by politicians, institutions, NGOs, government agencies, including private businessmen.
The latest was the minority in Parliament led by Hon. Afenyo Markin, who presented cash of two hundred thousand Ghana cedis to victims of the fire outbreak.
In a video serving the rounds on the internet, some beleaguered traders lamented the neglect of the Ashanti Regional Minister to come to the aid of affected traders.
Some claimed Dr Frank Amoakohene is claiming to be the best Regional Minister on social media, yet he has done nothing to bring relief to traders who have lost their livelihoods as a result of the fire.
Locals also blamed the government for the Adum market fire, citing frequent power outages, and criticized the Ashanti Regional Minister’s performance, questioning why he’s being praised as the best.
“With Kumasi burning, he’s always on social media claiming best regional minister. They will go, come 2028”
