Former hiplife artist-turned-gospel minister Yaw Siki has revealed an intimate tale about the sacrifices and introspective journey that brought him to Christ.
During a candid discussion on the GTV Breakfast Show, Yaw Siki opened up about the emotional void he felt even during his peak fame, and how this ultimately led him to embrace a life of faith.
Yaw Siki, who shot to fame with his hit song ‘Wop3 Dodo’, said things were good on the surface — the shows, the fame, and the dreams all seemed to be aligning. But deep within, he felt lost.
“I remember when I transformed fresh following the Lord Jesus and on waiting, some peeps called and they wanted me on a song and on a show but I had to deny myself that meanwhile I had nothing on me,” he said.
“Initially, it was fun, pleasurable, and I was achieving the dream, but then I became empty while there. Two years after ‘Wop3 Dodo’, I became so empty in my room, there was no joy.”
At this low moment, he started to hear a “quiet voice” softly leading him toward an alternate path — one based on devotion to God.
“And in that emptiness, there was that small voice, leading or edging or inspiring me to come to the Lord and to serve the Lord.”
