‘I HAVE NOT BEEN FAIR TO YOU, I’M SORRY’ – Kennedy Agyapong Apologizes To Mahama

Kennedy Agyapong, who is aspiring to become the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a public apology to former President John Dramani Mahama, citing his past actions as ‘unfair.’

During an appearance on the Starr Chat program on Accra’s Starr FM, which took place on October 5, 2023, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central openly acknowledged that despite his relentless criticisms and attacks on Mahama during his presidential tenure, Mahama had consistently maintained a gentlemanly demeanor in their relationship.

“The way he has handled me and how I have spoken harshly to John Mahama, I think, have not been fair to Mahama. He is such a wonderful man,” Ken told show host Bola Ray.

He went on to narrate how Mahama’s wife, former First Lady Lordina Mahama, has serially spoken highly of him (Ken) and that he is the only man Lordina would have loved to marry if Mahama was not in the picture.

I apologise; I am a human being. I think if I recount my relationship with him and all that, I want to say I am sorry,” he stated.

The Member of Parliament representing Assin Central has a history of launching direct and derogatory verbal attacks aimed at both Mahama, the former president, and his business-oriented brother, Ibrahim. These attacks often revolved around allegations of significant corruption on their part.

During Mahama’s tenure as president, the Assin Central MP consistently assumed the role of a vocal and persistent critic.
