Ghana captain Andre Ayew is poised to rejoin the Black Stars following a year without a call from the team’s technical staff.
The Le Havre player has been performing well in France, netting goals in the past two Ligue 1 matches for the team. Ayew received his most recent call-up to the Black Stars camp for the exhibition matches against Nigeria and Uganda in March 2024.
As reported by Ghana Soccernet, coach Otto Addo intends to include the seasoned forward in his lineup for the forthcoming international duties.
The Black Stars will compete against Madagascar and Chad in their upcoming two matches in March as Ghana sets aside their AFCON letdown to concentrate on World Cup qualification.
Ayew, recognized as Ghana’s player with the most caps, is thought to be the ideal leader for the team due to his extensive experience.
The ex-Marseille player guided Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and played a key role in the Black Stars’ qualification for the 2023 AFCON.
