Sista Afia, one of Ghana’s most popular female artists, has expressed her dissatisfaction with Nigerian chef Hilda Baci for claiming that Ghanaian Jollof lacks taste.
Sista Afia questioned Hilda on how she knew Ghana’s jollof was tasteless in a recent post on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter.
Sista Afia went on to say that although she used to really appreciate Hilda’s artwork, it didn’t sit well with her to be on a stage disparaging the flavor of Jollof from Ghana.
In a recent interview, the former Guinness Book World Record Holder claimed that Ghanaian Jollof was bland and unpalatable. Hilda Baci declared on the show that Nigerian Jollof was the greatest since it contained all the essential flavors that contribute to a dish’s flavor.
After trying Ghanaian Jollof, Hilda Baci declared she was positive it was not as good as Nigerian Jollof.
Many Ghanaians criticized Hilda and unfollowed her on social media for her offensive remarks after hearing Hilda’s speech, which sparked a lot of controversy.
“Girl I love and admire your work from afar but Ghana jollof has no flavour are you serious??? Cmon now who cooked it for u???” Afia commented on X.
