The Minority in Parliament claims that the Government fed Senior High School Students more than 300,000 bags of rice contaminated with maggots.
The minority spokesperson on education and Member of Parliament (MP) for Akatsi North, Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, stated that the maggot-infested item was brought into the nation from India and had been stored in a storage since 2021.
He asserted that despite the obvious health risk, senior high schools around the nation received rice bags contaminated with maggots.
He claims that the rice was locked up in 2021 because the importer was unable to pay duty, but the rice managed to make its way to senior high schools, where it was said to have produced maggots.
