According to the Ghana Statistical Service, the country’s inflation rate in September was 37.2%.
The GSS reports that the rate has increased from 33.9% in August 2022 to 37.2% in September 2022.
Compared to the 33.9 percent reported in August 2022, this is a monthly gain of 2.0 percent. The rate is 37.2% greater than it was in September 2021, though.
Between August and September of 2022, a 2.2 percentage point increase in year-over-year inflation was seen. The inflation rate was 35.7 percent for goods made in the country, and 40.7 percent for those made outside.
The food inflation rate in the West was the greatest (47.0%), while the non-food inflation rate in the East was the highest (42.0%).
Inflation was greatest in the Eastern Region (41%) and then moved on to the Western Region (40%) and the Greater Accra Region (39%).
While the greatest rate of inflation in the Eastern Region was reported for transportation (68.7%), the highest rate of inflation in the Western Region was recorded for fish and other seafood (64.0%)
