GHANA’S DEMOCRACY IS BEING THREATENED BY CORRUPTION – South African Politician, Julius Malema

Julius Malema, a ferocious politician from South Africa, has expressed his worry about the corruption that threatens Ghana’s democracy.

In a compelling address at the Arise Ghana event held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra, the founder and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) minced no words as he delved into the impact of corruption on the nation.

Malema claimed that Ghana’s democratic ideals are gravely threatened by official corruption.

He emphasized the unsettling reality that Ghana has often turned to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for financial assistance due to the country’s battle with corruption.

According to Malema, this undermines the autonomy that Ghanaian leaders ought to have by giving the IMF decision-making authority.

He says corruption eats away at the foundation of a sovereign state, endangering its very existence.

He also underlined that Ghanaians are currently being deprived of the benefits that should be theirs from the nation’s enormous natural resources.

Malema was a fervent supporter of a system in which the riches created by mining operations directly benefits the wellbeing and development of Ghana’s people.

Malema warned of the dire repercussions of corruption in the modern era, saying embezzlement from public coffers is tantamount to stealing from the future. He continued by saying that the kids will suffer the consequences because they will ultimately be the ones responsible for the mounting debt.

Malema urged cooperation in the fight against corruption and defense of Ghana’s democracy.
