Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has been asked to take over the Trade Ministry after Alan Kyeremanteng resigned from the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.
He will be the caretaker for the Trades and Industry Ministry until a substantive Minister is appointed to occupy the position.
John Alan Kyeremanteng resigned on Friday, January 6, 2022.
According to reports, his resignation is expected to pave way for him to focus on campaigning to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership in 2024.
His resignation comes after his followers had called on him to leave the sinking ship under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo else his image will be tainted.
The New Patriotic Party Is, however, yet to reach a date for the opening of nominations and elections for their next flagbearer.
Alan Kyeremanteng is one of the leading figures tipped to lead the Political party in its bid to break the eight-year cycle of political parties.
