KEN OFORI-ATTA BEST REPLACEMENT FOR ALAN K – NPP General Secretary

The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Mr. Justin Frimpong  Kodua says Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is the best man to serve the Ministry of Trade and Industry as caretaker minister after the resignation of the substantive minister.

Mr. Justin Kodua’s comment comes after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s decision to make Ken Ofori-Atta the caretaker Minister for the Trade and Industry Ministry received public backlash.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointed Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, as caretaker minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry following the resignation of the substantive minister, John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten on Thursday, January 5, 2023.

However, after his appointment, many people including political analysts have said the Minister for Finance is not fit for the job.

But speaking on Kumasi-based Hello FM the NPP Scribe insisted that the President made the best decision.

According to him there is no other ministry which is closer to the Trade Ministry than the Ministry of Finance.

Let’s put Ken as a person aside and ask that which of the ministers apart from the Finance Ministry have something in common with the Trade and Industry ministry?” Mr Justin Frimpong Kodua asked.

“Talking about Trade, it directly goes with finances. To be honest, let’s put Ken as a person aside and know that the next person to take over Trade Ministry is Finance”, he explained

He emphasized that, the fact that President Akfufo-Addo made Ken Ofori Atta caretaker minister does not mean he cannot be sacked from his office if the President thinks he ought to be fired.

“That does not change the fact that when it’s time for the president to change him as many people say, it can still come on”, Mr Justin Frimpong Kodua revealed.
