Nadia Abdul Aziz a well-known financial expert who replaced outgoing director Abdel-Majeed Haroun as a director of Asante Gold in November 2020, holds a sizeable 13.3 million share ownership, or 4.13 percent, in the gold exploration firm.
Before she joined Asante Gold in 2020, Aziz played a key role in the purchase of substantial mining concessions and mine development.
Nadia Aziz also sits on the board of Indussi Resources, a private Ghana-based project originator and developer.
Her extensive background in mining financial capacities was essential in Asante Gold’s recent purchase of Chirano Gold Mine, an operational open-pit and subterranean mining operation situated in southwest Ghana, immediately south of the company’s Bibiani Gold Mine.
Aziz is one of Ghana’s richest executives and shareholders thanks to her 4.13 percent ownership in the gold exploration company, which is presently valued at $16.1 million (CAD20.8 million).
Aziz reportedly contends with Ghanaian business tycoon Daniel Ofori, who levels as the richest shareholder on the local bourse with a diversified investment portfolio worth more than $28 million, thanks to the secondary listing of Asante Gold on the main market of the Ghana Stock Exchange, which took place last week on Wednesday, June 29.
According to the inferred value of Asante Gold’s shares after their listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange on Wednesday, the market value of Aziz’s 4.13 percent stake in Asante Gold is considerably greater than the portfolio values of prominent Ghanaian entrepreneurs and investors like Patrick Kingsley-Nyinnah, Frank Brako Adu, and Oscar Yao Doe.
