OUR FATHER THREATENED TO DISOWN US WHEN WE WERE INTO SECULAR MUSIC – TwinsDntBeg

The Day Show with Berla Mundi interviewed one of Ghana’s internationally recognised photographers, TwinsDntBeg, sharing their journey to fame began in the studios, somewhere in Tema, making music until their father’s ultimatum changed the course of their destiny.

The TwinsDntBeg brand started when Emmanuel and Samuel Appiah Gyan completed Senior High School in Kuamsi and decided to chase their dreams in Tema, where they sort to enter the music industry.

Unfortunately, their father, a staunch member of the Pentecost church and church elder, was not enthused about his children making music that does not promote the ministry of God.

“Music was our dream, and we had some demos. We even had a song with D Cryme and Yaw Siki. When we started putting music out there, our dad was like he will disown us if we continue on that path.”

But years down the line, after dabbling in many showbiz ventures, including acting in movies, TwinsDntBeg have craved a lucrative niche for themselves through the camera lens.

The duo revealed that they leveraged on contacts they built through their time in the studios with musicians and actors, giving them a massive boost in their photography careers as they now capture dignitaries, including Second lady of Ghana- Smaira Bawumia and His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

TwinsDn’tBeg also spoke about overcoming challenges in their hustle and how they had to persevere after their first show made losses, which sent them into debt.

Today, they are travelling globally, documenting memories with their cameras.
