SARKODIE’S BLACK LOVE VIRTUAL CONCERT CRUSHES WEBSITE

Sarkodie’s much-hyped Black Love Virtual Concert slated for August 16, 2020, attracted massive viewership all over the world and saw awesome performances as well.

However, prior to the airing of the free concert, huge traffic from many fans of the Oofeetso viewers of the virtual show caused the website to go down temporarily over bandwidth issues.

Reports have it that the hosting site could carry 15.million subscribers at a time but they were recording almost 2 times that number.

The official streaming website for the show, Ceek, as a result, released a statement following the hiccup and assured fans that normalcy would be restored.

They took to their Twitter handle to post: “Due to massive traffic we are aware some people are not able to connect. Standby the show will begin shortly.”

News coming in about traffic sources for the Concert showed that Ghana was in the lead with almost 1.4 million viewers trying to log in and this slowed down the website.

The tweet to this effect read: “#SarkNation shut the web down. Due to overwhelming traffic, we are having some technical issues. Please standby we are working to resolve this. 1.5 million at once with more coming.”

Sarkodie’s Black Love concert was hyped for a long time and saw a number of top Ghanaian stars making appearances.

The likes of Shatta Wale, Efya, Amakye Dede and a host of others joined Sarkodie on the day.

One of the most memorable moments on the night was when Sarkodie performed together with Shatta Wale for the first time in 3 years.

Prior to the big day, it was reported that dancehall star Stonebwoy, was engaged in some sort of fracas with Sarkodie’s manager, Angeltown.

Stonebwoy, however, following the incident, rendered an official self-recorded apology to Angeltown and Sarkodie.
