Renowned media personality, Afia Pokuaa popularly referred to as Vim Lady has offered a word of caution to her former colleague, Nana Ama Mcbrown following her exit from Despite Media.
Nana Ama McBrown, who hosted United Showbiz on UTV, has left to join the Media General Group, owners of TV3, Onua TV, and others.
On Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Media General’s premises in Kanda, Accra, the well-known television personality was formally unveiled.
She joins the Onua brand.
In a recent post made by Afia Pokuaa on her Facebook page, she decried the ripple effect and impact of Nana Ama McBrown’s comments about her former employers.
She asserted that the owners of the Despite Media Group do not object to McBrown quitting the company and that she [Vim Lady] is consequently baffled as to why some of her coworkers are criticizing McBrown.
Vim Lady pointed out that the critics were only acting in this way just to attract favour from their bosses.
“A job is a contract to exchange SKILLS/TALENT for SALARY. Nobody is doing anyone any favor by employing them. A contract too can be repudiated or abrogated at any time. The same way, me, Abeiku Santana, Kofi Kum Bilson and Obiyaa left Multimedia to join Despite Media, someone can leave and join another company. It’s just a job. The OWNERS OF DESPITE MEDIA are okay with McBrown but the disciples are always shouting to gain favor from the bosses. Did McBrown not increase our viewership too? Or did you give her the acting talent too?
