THE NEW CROP OF FILMMAKERS KILLED THE INDUSTRY – David Dontoh

David Kwame Dontoh, the chairman of the National Films Authority,  and a veteran actor has accused young filmmakers in the nation of being to blame for the downfall of the nation’s once-vibrant film industry.

David Dontoh asserts that these new film producers were given the chance to break into the business because filmmaking itself eventually became simple.

“When we were transitioning from celluloid film to video film… video film is a lot cheaper, a lot faster easier and virtually anyone can manipulate the camera”, he revealed

The legendary script-interpreter believes that these new film producers took a sloppy approach to making movies by neglecting to write good scripts and hire qualified actors.

“When video technology came into the system, people found it easy to use it to make money for themselves”, David Dontoh said on E-TV in a studio discussion monitored by MyNewsGH.com.
