The leadership of United Television (UTV), led by Fadda Dickson, has issued an unequivocal apology to businessman and politician Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, over offensive remarks made on their platform by controversial comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger.
The apology was made a few days after Afia’s infamous meltdown on the final episode of the renowned United Showbiz program (July 9, 2022) was presented by Nana Ama Mcbrown, who also goes by the name Empress.
When Chairman Wontumi claimed that they were involved in a romantic relationship in the past, Afia Schwarzenegger, among other things, called her out for pursuing a lawsuit against her.
Ghanaians, led by Afia’s main adversary Nana Tornado, slammed the top executives of the major TV station for lowering their standards and inviting a villain like Afia Schwarzenegger to disrespect and humiliate a politician while aware that the issue was still ongoing in court.
In this context, Chairman filed a lawsuit against the station, the program’s host, the panelists who participated on that tragic day, and Nana Ama Mcbrown.
The administration of UTV has apologized profusely to Chairman Wontumi for the tragic incident and begged for forgiveness, clearly sensing danger and taking precautions.
