Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has asked Ghanaians not to dispute the results of the Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) should Piesie Esther win this year.
He says unlike other artists in the category, Piesie Esther has put in the effort to canvas for votes from Churches and wherever she finds herself.
Arnold believes that the effort she is investing in to win the coveted award will pay off on the day of the awards and no one should shout about it when it happens.
Arnold who was speaking on Accra-based UTV said other artists in the category have failed to do the same but will come back and say all manner of things against the scheme when their colleagues who worked hard at getting the votes win.
He cited an example of what happened when Daina Hamilton won the award indicating that the Church of Pentecost made all effort at ensuring that she wins the coveted award.
“Let us not relegate the power of the votes because it is key. If you’re an artiste and you sit to say let the process work, you may fail. You need to conscientize your fans to vote. I will want to congratulate Piesie Esther for what she has done in the past weeks in canvassing for votes,” he said.
Piesie Esther is competing with big names like Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, Piesie Esther, Joe Mettle for the award.
