VGMA WILL NOT REVEAL THE IDENTITY OF BOARD MEMBERS FOR THEIR SAFETY – PRO

Robert Klah, the Public Relations Officer of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), has said that the scheme will not disclose the identities of the board members responsible for selecting nominees and winners of the prestigious music awards.

In an interview with Caleb Nii Boye on 3FM, Robert Klah explained that the decision was made to protect the safety of the board members.

Klah stated that VGMA has received threats in the past, and the board members have been subjected to online harassment, which has led to concerns about their safety.

As a result, the decision was made to keep their identities confidential to avoid any potential harm.

“The thing is this we’ve had some board members who’ve had threats before so the best thing is not to share information about these people,” Robert Klah submitted

Citing the Grammy Awards as reference, the P.R.O revealed that there are over 11,000 decision makers who comprised members of the Recording Academy and most were relatively unknown.

“There are 11,000 plus people responsible for the Grammys and I don’t know if you know all of them and I don’t know if anybody is responsible for knowing all of them,” he said.
