WE NEED INVESTORS TO SUPPORT THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY – Alordia

Nii Ofori Tackie, CEO of Alordia Promotions, the company that organizes the Ghana Music Awards UK, has urged Ghanaians to support and invest in the entertainment industry.

In an interview with the host of Adwumapa mbre on connect 97.1fm, the UK-based event promoter stated that Ghanaian musicians are performing well. Additionally, they would be able to fill up large stadiums like Nigerians are doing with the help of investors and the media.

”Nigerians are getting there because they are really pushing. For instance, you can get an Alhaji who is rich and willing to support their artiste, but it’s not like that in Ghana. We are doing everything right, but we lack support and investors.”

Alordia, who has worked in the entertainment sector for more than 20 years and has encouraged most Ghanaian artists to play at events abroad, also suggested that musicians make an effort to speak English or pidgin as much as possible, just like Nigerians do.

“Most Nigerian artistes sing in pidgin or English, making it easier for their songs to cut across. But in our case, most of our artistes sing in our local dialect, which makes it difficult for some people to understand. I’ll advise that our musicians communicate more in pidgin or English when writing songs. But I must say they are really doing well.”

Alordia Promotion is one of the biggest promoters Ghana has ever had as far as entertainment is concerned, hosting events such as Ghana Music Awards UK, Ghana Independence Concert, Afrobeat Concert and others.
