WEST HAM UNITED ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF MOHAMMED KUDUS FROM AJAX

Premier League side West Ham United have officially announced the signing of Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus joins the East London club from Dutch side Ajax, signing a five-year contract with an option of a further year.

West Ham will pay an initial €41.5m (£35.59m) and €3m (£2.57m) in performance-related add-ons, making the Ghanaian the second expensive purchase for the Hammers.

Kudus becomes the latest player to move to the London Stadium after Konstantinos Mavropanos, James Ward-Prowse, and Edson Alvarez this summer.

Kudus told the club’s official website: “I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment and I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going.

“I try my best to entertain the fans as I think that’s what football is all about. I’m just here to do my best and help the team. I’m really happy to be here. I will fight for the badge. I can’t wait to get started.”

During his three years with Ajax, Kudus made 87 appearances scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions.

He also won three trophies with the club including two league titles in his first two seasons.
