Actress Lydia Forson has challenged why ineffective Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta continue to hold office when Liz Truss, the “whole” UK Prime Minister, resigned after failing to carry out her country’s mandate.
The “Perfect Picture” star claims that due of the country’s present economic crisis, Ghanaians no longer have faith in Ken Ofori-Atta as its minister of finance; as a result, she questions why he is still in power.
Even if the minister’s resignation might not put an end to the current economic crisis, which has seen the cedi plunge against major trade currencies, especially the US dollar, Lydia Forson thinks the move will improve the mood of the populace.
Taking to her social media platform, Lydia stated;
“The resignation/firing of the finance minister may not completely boost our economy, but it just may boost our morale”, she maintained
“How don’t you understand that how the people feel about their leaders plays into how well the country does, how?” she quizzed.
