Mark Okraku Mantey, the deputy tourism minister, revealed that Kwabena Kwabena’s popularity grew after he supported the NPP before the 2020 elections.
He revealed that some celebrities experience a decline in their careers after publicly supporting political parties.
He believes that while many people face challenges due to their political affiliations, there are some who still succeed, using Kwabena Kwabena as an example.
“Kwabena Kwabena became a bigger artiste after ‘NPP Wo Soro’ [song]. Yea, Kwabena Kwabena became more popular after endorsing Candidate Akufo-Addo. So if you have your issues, don’t blame them on the political parties. If you manage yourself well and position yourself well as a brand, you will thrive,” he stated.
He mentioned that despite already being a prominent figure in the country, Kwabena Kwabena’s popularity grew even more after supporting Nana Akuffo Addo.
Mark Okraku Mantey further stated that even though he is involved in politics, some previous business partners have indicated their interest in collaborating with him once he steps away from politics.
“I spoke with some companies I used to work with. They said when I am done with politics, they are ready to still do business with me,” he said.
