“LEAVE ME OUT OF IT” – Shatta Wale Slams Youth For Asking Him To Comment On #FreeTheCitizens Campaign

Shatta Wale, a dancehall artist from Ghana, has criticized the youth for constantly asking him to share his thoughts on social media about the recent arrest of Democracy Hub protesters.

The demonstration aimed to demand improved governance and accountability from leaders, resulting in the detention of multiple protesters advocating for the liberation of citizens.

In a sequence of audio messages posted on X (formerly called Twitter), Shatta Wale expressed his desire not to be involved in the conversation. He was frustrated that the youth asking for his support now had not backed him previously when he raised concerns about the country.

The dancehall artist, who recently dropped his album ‘SAFA,’ noted that when he spoke out against the entertainment industry in the past, he was labeled as envious of fellow musicians.

Shatta Wale also stated that individuals who were more focused on their personal gain rather than the nation’s well-being were leading the youth astray.

He cautioned them against including him in their social media campaign and mentioned that, in contrast to the protestors who he said lacked seriousness in their protests, he is regarded as “untouchable” in the entertainment field due to his outspoken nature.
