JOHN DUMELO CONDEMNS ALLEGED INTIMIDATION OF SECURITY OFFICER AT UNIVERSITY OF GHANA

Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has expressed concerns over an alleged act of intimidation involving the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon and a security officer at the University of Ghana, Legon.

In a statement shared on social media, Dumelo revealed that the MP allegedly met with the officer, who was seen in a viral video stating that the distribution of rice and oil by the MP would not sway his vote. The officer is reportedly facing pressure to retract his remarks or risk losing his job.

Dumelo, who contested the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat in the 2020 elections, condemned the alleged intimidation and called on voters to reject such tactics.

“This is a university community, and individuals must have the courage to stand against oppression,” Dumelo stated. “I urge voters to reject such intimidation and defend their right to make independent choices.”

The incident has sparked conversations about voter independence and political ethics in Ghana’s electoral processes, especially in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency. Dumelo’s remarks are expected to further intensify the discussion on the role of fairness and integrity in politics.

As of now, neither the MP nor the University of Ghana has issued a public response to the allegations.
