Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that the country’s condition has deteriorated since he handed it over to President Akufo-Addo and the vice president.
As part of his #BuildingGhanaTour, the former president made this declaration on November 22, 2023, during a durbar with Zongo chiefs at Goaso.
John Mahama said that while successive administrations have carried on the good work of their predecessors since the days of former President Rawlings, this has not been the case with the current administration.
The former president disclosed that the cost of the Hajj journey was GHC15,000 under his administration, but it is now GHC75,000, which keeps many Muslims from taking the trip.
When he was elected into office, he promised to ensure that the COS is lowered to allow many Muslims to travel for the Hajj.
The outgoing president counselled people to vote while considering their quality of life.
