GHANAIANS HAVEN’T ASKED YOU FOR REVENGE AGAINST URUGUAY – Bulldog to Asamoah Gyan

Artiste manager Bulldog says Asamoah Gyan should “stay home” if his motivation is to have revenge against Uruguay at the 2022 World Cup.

Since his interview with the BBC, in which he discussed the possibility of a comeback and likened it to Roger Milla’s surprise appearance at the 1994 World Cup for Cameroon, Gyan has become a viral sensation on social media.

After making his debut with the Black Stars in 2003, the now 36-year-old was a mainstay in the team for over two decades.

Aside from his appearance at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, he has not been called upon to play for the national squad since.

Gyan has dealt with minor ailments over the last three years, and his tenure with Legon Cities of the Ghana Premier League did not go swimmingly.

Despite his lack of recent playing time, he isn’t retiring just yet, and he’s inviting the Black Stars back for the World Cup in Qatar.

Also, in an interview with the BBC, Gyan expressed his desire to play Uruguay again after missing a penalty in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinals.

It’s understandable if Gyan wants to make amends, in Bulldog’s opinion, but he stressed that no one in Ghana has specifically requested that the striker exact punishment on him.

“What is the revenge about? Do you think Ghanaians want revenge? Are you the one seeking revenge or Ghanaians? Have we told you we need revenge? When did we speak to you about revenge? Why is he saying that?” he said on United Showbiz.

“When you’re a legend, you’d want to correct some errors before you retire; that is what he wants to do. Honestly, he did well for Ghana but that penalty he missed has become a dent.”

“The circumstances are not the same. If it’s because of revenge, he should stay home,” the controversial artiste manager added.
